Ovarian Cancer Symptoms
Women have many different organs that together are called
the ‘reproductive system’. One of the most important of these
is the ovary, the organ that releases the egg which is later
either
fertilized or degenerates during menses. The ovary therefore
plays an important role in hormone secretion in females, and
hence in a lot of the processes that take place in a woman’s
body. Being an organ with lots of activity, all cells in
the ovary are constantly growing, maturing and dying. When
these cells start producing more cells than are dying, a mass
forms in the ovary, which is what can later turn into ovarian
cancer. Generally, ovarian
cancer symptoms do not manifest until
the cancer starts growing. If a women starts to
experience pressure or fullness in the pelvis, abdominal
bloating, or changes in bowel and bladder patterns that
continue she should consult her doctor.
Being diagnosed with ovarian cancer is a distressing experience
for any woman. There are no specific reasons for ovarian cancer
to develop and so there are no special methods to take that can
prevent the disease from forming. Because of this reason it is
important to stay alert about any warning signs of
irregularities in your body’s functions. As a main organ that
deals with menstruation, it would be a good initiative to be
vigilant about any differences in the monthly cycle.
Ovarian cancer is not the reason every time there is some
irregularity in the cycle, but consulting the doctor as soon as
possible would mean you are ready for whatever the reason may
be. If ovarian cancer is found in an ovary, it is sometimes
advised to remove the ovary to stop the cancer from affecting
any other organ.
Women need not be disheartened if diagnosed with ovarian
cancer. There are a wide array of drugs prescribed by doctors
which provide the needed hormones for the body to function as
it always did. And since there are two ovaries present in the
female body, it does not mean that removing one ovary because
of ovarian cancer would mean there is no chance for childbirth
later in life. Science has progressed greatly over the past
years and so ovarian cancer symptoms can be successfully
diagnosed treated and cured, as long as it is diagnosed early
enough.
Dealing with ovarian cancer symptoms, or any other form of
cancer, is not an easy experience. It takes a lot of courage to
go through an experience like that, and so it is important to
always surround yourself with positive people. Identifying the
best treatment for you with help from your doctor and sticking
to it is vital. Last but not least never give up hope in
yourself. You are stronger than you know!
